Clifton is a 5″-11″ 174-pound right shooting blueliner that was selected in the fifth round of the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes. As Divver mentioned in his Tweet above, the 22-year-old recent graduate of Quinnipiac University has opted out in signing with the Coyotes and tested the free agent market before coming to terms with Providence. The Matawan, New Jersey native appeared in 156 games for the Bobcats producing 56 points and an astonishing 284 penalty minutes as a rugged defensive player.
