Nov. 2nd vs VGK – Prediction 4-3 BOS (OT)
Tonight the Boston Bruins faceoff against the Vegas Golden Knights in their 11th game of the season. Vegas is third in the Western Conference after a surprisingly good start to the season after nearly a year of people saying that they wouldn’t have any chance at the playoffs. But with three goalies on the IR currently, they are playing a little more desperate nowadays. Hopefully, the banged-up roster of the Bruins can capitalize on the absences of the netminders.
Nov. 4th vs WAS – Prediction 3-1 WAS
On Saturday, the greatest day for hockey, the Bruins play the Washington Capitals at 7pm. The Capitals, as of November 2nd, have the same amount of points as the Bruins at 11. The Capitals have been one of the teams that have bounced around from wins to loses each night, never securing a solid streak of good or bad results. They are hoping to find themselves regularly winning sooner than later.
Nov. 6th vs MIN – Prediction 5-3 BOS
The last game of a three-game home stretch comes against the struggling Minnesota Wild. The Wild have some of their key players on the IR, including Zach Parise and Charlie Coyle. They have the third worst record in the Western Conference, despite having a +1 goal differential. Even with two goalies with +2.50 GAA, which is never a good sign for a team that is usually one of the most dangerous goalie duos in the league. Look for Rask to potentially sit out this game if Khudobin is back on the bench for the Washington game. I don’t see Bruce Cassidy playing Rask that many games consecutively.
Nov. 8th @ NYR – Prediction 2-1 NYR
To wrap up the week, the Bruins head “South” to face a fellow Original Six team in the New York Rangers. The Rangers currently have played three more games than the Bruins, but have one point less than Boston does. The Rangers are 4-4-2 at home currently, while the Bruins are 1-2-1 on the road. That matchup favors the Rangers currently, but it’s too early in the season to tell if the Home/Away records will hold up. This is the second Metropolitan team that the Bruins play this week and the last one that they will play for two weeks until their meeting with the New Jersey Devils on the 22nd.
The Bruins are currently on 5 game points streak. This is great for the team after their slow first 5 games. As long as they keep pushing games to OT and getting points, they will jump up the standings quickly and start to make a very early impression in the standings.
