Moments after the trade deadline, the Bruins sent two draft picks to the New Jersey Devils for foward Marcus Johansson. The Devils will receive a second round pick in 2019 and a fourth round selection in 2020 in exchange for Johansson.

The 26-year-old has skated in 48 games for New Jersey this season, posting 12 goals and 15 assists for 27 points. Johansson spent his first seven seasons in Washington before being traded to New Jersey in July of 2017. Johansson posted 102 goals and 188 assists for 290 points in 501 career games with the Capitals. He has skated in 72 career playoff games posting nine goals and 21 assists for 30 points.

The Landskrona, Sweden was originally drafted by the Capitals in the first round (24th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. It will be interesting to see where Johansson slots in as he can play all forward positions including center. His unspectacular numbers should be taken with a grain of salt as the Devils have struggled offensively for most the season. Expect Johansson to play on either the second or third line and expect to see him get power play time as well.
