The Boston Bruins have reportedly claimed left-handed defenseman Jarred Tinordi off waivers from the Nashville Predators. Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston and Elliotte Friedman reported the transaction on Saturday morning.

Tinordi is currently in the final season of a two-year deal, worth an average annual value of $700,000. This season, the 6-foot-6, 230-pound blueliner has skated in seven games for the Predators, recording eight shots on goal, four penalty minutes and a minus-one rating.
Last season, the 29-year-old registered a goal and four assists for five points to go along with a minus-one rating and 34 penalty minutes in 28 regular season contests with Nashville. He suited up in four playoff games in 2019-20, but did not record a point.
A 2010 first round pick (22nd overall) of the Montreal Canadiens, Tinordi has skated in 88 regular season NHL contests, earning 1-10-11 totals in addition to a minus-nine rating and 116 penalty minutes. He also skated in five playoff games with the Habs in 2012-13, recording an assist. After spending almost six seasons in the Canadiens organization, Tinordi was dealt to Arizona in 2015-16, where he skated in seven contests.
The Burnsville, Minn., native has skated in 397 American Hockey League contests from the 2012-13 season through 2019-20, between the Hamilton Bulldogs, St. John’s IceCaps, Tuscon Roadrunners, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and the Milwaukee Admirals. In that span he posted 20 goals and 71 assists for 91 points, in addition to 511 penalty minutes and a plus-18 rating. In seven Calder Cup Playoff contests, he has one assist.
Boston currently has approximately $3.09 million in cap space, according to CapFriendly. That number does not yet reflect the addition of Tinordi’s contract.
