The Bruins have just re-signed forward Trent Frederic to a two-year deal that carries a $1.05 million cap hit per year.

Drafted 29th overall by Boston in the 1st round of the 2016 entry draft, Frederic saw his first real action with the big club this season, posting 4 goals and an assist in 42 games. The young forward was quite the spark plug in the bottom 6 this season, getting under the skin of opposing players by playing the agitator role Bruins fans have been accustomed to in years past.

While he may not have had the most impressive season offensively, his grit and determination on the ice have won him many fans in Beantown. Next season, Frederic will be pushing for a regular role with the Bruins, who will be looking for more of a physical presence to carry them into the later rounds of the playoffs. Frederic has all the tools to be that physical player the team desperately needs in the bottom six.

Frederic will have plenty of competition in camp this summer, and he will need to be at the top of his game to beat out other players in line for a shot at getting into the line-up. Frederic is likely to start the year as a winger on the Bruins’ 4th line. Hopefully, we will see a lot of Trent Frederic this upcoming season because the Bruins will need all of the grit they can get moving forward.

Glad to have to have you back Freddy!
