Frank Simonetti 9-1-62

The Melrose, Massachusetts native got the chance of a lifetime when he signed with his favorite Boston Bruins team as a free agent out of Norwich University in 1984 after posting 28 points in 18 games. The 6′-1″ 190-pound defenseman spent a better part of his professional career bouncing from the National Hockey League and minor-pro affiliates in the American Hockey League.

He appeared in 115 NHL games all with the B’s posting 5-8-13 numbers and in 50 games in the AHL has eight assists. After playing in 43 games in the NHL during his rookie years his participation at the highest level in the world started to decline due to a nagging shoulder injury that never healed properly after surgery during his second season of professional hockey.  He retired from the game in 1988 after playing 30 games for the Bruins and seven for the Maine Mariners

Frank continues to live in the area and according to The Official Site Of The Hockey Hall Of Fame, he occasionally skates with the Bruins Alumni team lending his support.
