With the news of Anders Bjork rolling over starting goaltender Tuukka Rask yesterday morning during practice drills at the Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton, Massachusetts, the Bruins have reportedly called up goaltender Zane McIntyre from the Bruins top minor-pro American Hockey League affiliate.

This is purely an emergency basis move but one that has to be made for availability. The 25-year-old sixth-round Bruins draft pick in 2010 is in his third year of professional hockey and off to another great start posting a 2-1-0 record with a goals-against-average 0f 2.35 and ..914 save percentage in three games played. Last season he set career highs and made a significant impression with the Bruins Brass with a second pro year 21-6-1 record, a 2.03 GAA and .930 save%. His time with the National Hockey League club wasn’t so great with a 0-4-1 record and neither was the product in front of them going without a win in eight games of top-level action as he was the guy to replace Anton Khudobin who had a terrible start and got demoted to the AHL but came into fruition a little too late in the NHL regular season to helped with the effort of securing playoff points in of Spring 2017.

“It was incidental contact on a hard drill…that’s the spillover from it sometimes.”

The list of Bruins injuries continues to grow as the Bruins are four games into the 2017-18 NHL campaign and one to the starting goaltender regardless of popularity is not good moving forward. Hopefully this is as the report states as “precautionary”. The B’s get back to work tonight with a contest against the Vancouver Canucks at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts, then another game on Saturday night against the Buffalo Sabres. With that list of injuries brings a forgiven schedule next week as the B’s will have a five day break and get back to work on Thursday night when the San Jose Sharks come to town and the Los Angeles Kings pay a visit on Staturday night.
