Bruins Head Coach Bruce Cassidy revealed this morning that Brad Marchand is dealing with an upper body injury and will be unavailable for Saturday’s game in Buffalo against the Sabres. Marchand likely suffered the injury during last night’s game against the New Jersey Devils.
#NHLBruins updates per Bruce Cassidy:
Brad Marchand has an upper-body injury. Unlikely to play in Buffalo, but will travel. “He was not feeling well going into the game [stomach]…will have a much better idea tomorrow.”

Marchand has skated in 38 games for the Bruins this season, posting 12 goals and 29 assists for 41 points, good for second on the team in points behind David Pastrnak. Marchand recently reached 500 points in his career with two assists last Sunday in Carolina. The 30-year-old winger was one of three Bruins along with Pastrnak and David Krejci to play in every game this season for the black and gold.

The Halifax, Nova Scotia native was originally drafted by the Bruins in the third round (71st overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. Marchand made his NHL debut on October 21st, 2009 in Boston against the Nashville Predators where he totaled an assist. The feisty winger is coming off back to back 85 point campaigns and has been an integral part of the Bruins team in the last few seasons. Don’t expect Marchand to miss much time as he typically has been healthy during his Bruins career. The team will look to other sources of offense in his absence.
