The Boston Bruins hope to bounce back this Fall with some energetic and exciting hockey after being bounced in the second round of the playoffs this Spring.
And throughout much of November, the B’s will be bouncing all over the Northeast and Canada getting it done against almost every Original Six team and every Canadian team.
And with game times recently released for all of the 2021-2022 schedule, let’s take a look at some must-see match-ups to mark on your Bruins calendar for November!
ORIGINAL SIX AWESOMENESS
The Detroit Red Wings motor into Beantown on Thursday, November 4th at 7:00pm to begin an “Original Six Stretch” of hockey that includes every team except the Chicago Blackhawks. The Wings will also bookend the schedule this month with an outgoing TD Garden game at the same time on the 30th.
In between those games, the B’s will battle the Montreal Canadiens at home for some Sunday night hockey on the 14th at 7:00pm; and the New York Rangers will skate into the Hub of Hockey for a rare Friday matinee marquee at 3:30pm on the 26th.
Rounding out the Original Six gameplay will be an on-the-road affair versus the Toronto Maple Leafs on November 6th at 7:00pm. This game should be particularly interesting to watch because of the “switcharoo” line-up options in play: Nick Foligno traded his (most recent) Leafs jersey for the Spoked-B while Toronto signed Boston turn-a-ways Nick Ritchie and Ondrej Kase.
And Boston versus Toronto in ANY capacity is just entertaining hockey so I’d highlight this one — and enjoy the side storylines while watching — and circle back to the follow-up games later in the year.
CANADIAN KICKIN’ IT
Most folks get their kicks on Route 66 as the old lyrical adage goes. But for the Bruins, they’ll be kickin’ back in Boston allowing almost every Canadian team to travel East for some November game action.
Some notable contests to mark down: November 9th versus the Ottawa Senators (7:00pm); November 11th versus the Edmonton Connors / McDavid Oilers (7:00pm); and three consecutive Sundays to close out the month versus the Habs, the Calgary Flames and the Vancouver Canucks on the 14th, 21st and 28th respectively (all at 7:00pm).
As always, the B’s will return the favor shortly thereafter and do some traveling of their own throughout The Great White North (a fun week to watch out for in our next installment) but it’s one trip to “almost Canada” that deserves a final highlight this week.
MAKE YOUR (ULL)MARK
Sandwiched between five home games will be a quick jaunt up to Buffalo for the Bruins on Wednesday, November 24th at (you guessed it) 7:00pm.
It will be exciting to see Linus Ullmark in net against his former club –and in their own building, mind you– wearing the Black N’ Gold, especially after his very candid interview about playing for Boston and the expectations of winning:
I think the talented Swedish netminder is already making his mark on the team, let alone the B’s calendar, with his enthusiasm for joining a club that he feels is ready to win and contend now AND that he can be the piece that helps put them over the top.
We’ll top out with another edition of Mark Your 2021-2022 Bruins Calendar next Wednesday so “B” on the lookout right here at the Black N’ Gold hockey blog!
