Boom! There it is. The Bruins answer what many fans were hypothesizing. David Krejci has returned on a one-year, $1 million contract. Krejci will also receive $2 million in performance bonuses, which will go against the 2023-24 NHL salary cap. Let’s review his career numbers in the NHL and in Extraliga.
The Sternberk, Czech Republic native, was drafted 63rd overall in the 2004 NHL entry draft by the Boston Bruins. He spent all 15 of his NHL seasons with the Boston Bruins organization until the 2021-2022 season, where he opted to play in his home country for the Olomouc HC of the Extraliga League.
During his time with Boston, the elite second-line center was a consistent offensive threat driving secondary scoring production. Krejci was able to amass 962 games scoring 215 goals and a whopping 515 assists for a total of 730 points. (0.75 PPG).
He also garnered a nickname in Boston as “Playoff Krejci.” In his 15 seasons with Boston, he helped lead the team to playoffs 12 times. Here is where his legend took off. Playing in 156 total playoff games, Krejci was able to produce at an elite level, raising his game to an even higher standard. Krejci totaled 42 goals and 82 assists for 124 points. (0.79 PPG)
During David’s stint with Olomouc HC, the center produced 20 goals and 26 assists in 51 games for a total of 46 points. (Fitting)
