Boston Bruins forward Mark Kastelic has returned to Boston with an upper-body injury and will miss the remainder of the West Coast road trip. In his absence, the promising Fabian Lysell, a top prospect for the organization, will step up and take Kastelic’s place in the lineup for tonight’s game against the San Jose Sharks. Lysell will play alongside Marat Khusnutindov and Elias Lindholm.
The former Ottawa Senator, who sustained a concussion during a game against the Tampa Bay Lightning on January 9th, is now facing another injury. The details of this new injury are currently unclear, but it may be related to the concussion he experienced earlier this year.
The native of Phoenix, Arizona, has been an essential contributor to the Bruins this season, bringing significant grit and physicality to the team’s lineup. Kastelic, who was acquired in the trade involving goaltender Linus Ullmark last summer, has become a fan favorite and a leading contender for the NESN 7th Man of the Year Award. The former fifth-round pick has recorded 5-9-14 points with 106 penalty minutes in 61 games this season with the Bruins, a testament to the energy and skill he brings to the lineup.
The Boston Bruins are set to play against the San Jose Sharks tonight at 10:30 PM. After this game, they will travel to Los Angeles to face the Kings tomorrow. The team will have a few days off before heading to the Honda Center to take on the Ducks on Wednesday. Finally, they will conclude their road trip with a game next Saturday against the Red Wings in Detroit. Please note that Kastelic will not be available until the team returns from this road trip.
