The Boston Bruins have re-signed restricted free agent John Farinacci to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 for the 2025-2026 season. Farinacci, 24, made his NHL debut for the Bruins in the team’s season finale against the New Jersey Devils and recorded his first NHL goal. In 58 regular season games for the Providence Bruins in 2024-25, Farinacci scored 10-28-38 and in eight playoff games, he recorded a statline of 1-0-1.

Originally selected with the 76th overall pick in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Arizona Coyotes, Farinacci did not sign with the club and was signed to a two-year, entry-level deal with Boston in 2023. In his first season in the Bruins organization, Farinacci appeared in 71 games for Providence and posted 12-26-38. In the four playoff games for Providence in the 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs, he notched a goal and an assist.

The Red Bank, New Jersey, native finished seventh on the P-Bruins in scoring in the 2024-25 season with his 38 points. His 58 games played were tied for eighth on the team with Riley Tufte. Ahead of Game 82 for Boston, Farinacci and Providence teammate Frederic Brunet were recalled to make their NHL debuts. In the second period, Jakub Lauko threw a sharp-angled shot towards the Devils’ net, where Farinacci was able to corral the rebound and fire his first NHL goal over the shoulder of Jake Allen.

Farinacci’s deal throws another capable forward into an already crowded bottom-six for the Bruins. But as a 24-year-old and with room to continue to grow on both ends of the ice, Farinacci has a legit chance to push for one of those roles, either on the wing or down the middle. However, as a top-nine option in Providence who can slide right into the NHL lineup, Farinacci can continue to build upon his strengths and force the Bruins’ hands to get minutes at that level.
