Bruins prospect Andre Gasseau has been announced as one of three captains for Boston College ahead of his senior year on Chestnut Hill. He will be joined by fellow seniors Lukas Gustafsson and Brady Berard at the head of the Eagles leadership group for the 2025-26 season.
Gasseau, the 213th overall pick from the 2021 NHL Draft, is the most experienced player on the BC roster for the upcoming season. His 112 games played beat out Gustafsson by a single game, with Berard and fellow Bruins’ draft pick Oskar Jellvik falling just short of the century mark. Gasseau’s 37-51-88 career stat line also lead the Eagles.
Gasseau has been a pillar of consistency throughout his first three years with BC, recording 29, 29, and 30 points in each of his campaigns and improving his goal scoring totals each year. His 15-goal output this past season was highlighted by a seven-game hot streak, during which he recorded six goals and 13 points to help the Eagles secure the Hockey East title.
His tenure with BC has coincided with a revival of sorts for the program. Over the past two seasons, the Eagles have won back-to-back Hockey East regular season titles, a Hockey East tournament title, qualified for the NCAA tournament in consecutive years for the first time since 2016, and made their first Frozen Four in eight years during the 2024 tournament, coming up short against Denver in the National Championship.
Gasseau previously spoke about the possibility of becoming captain at Bruins Development Camp. While saying it would be an honor, he also emphasized leadership as a group effort:
“I think it’s an honor, but it’s also not just one captain, two captains, whatever, it’s a group, and we’re all gonna be pulling that same rope. If we’re not all bought in, it’s gonna be a long year, and I know that the group we’re gonna have coming back is going to be an excellent group on and off the ice.”
The Eagles begin the 2025-26 season by welcoming regional powers Quinnipiac to Conte Forum on October 3rd.
