The Boston Bruins have announced that defenseman Hampus Lindholm, who has been sidelined since just the second game of the 2025-26 campaign, has been place on injured reserve. Additionally, defenseman Jonathan Aspirot has been recalled from the Providence Bruins.

Lindholm spent the majority of the 2024-25 campaign on long-term IR due to a fractured knee cap. Once thought to be making a return before the season ended, he was ruled out for the remainder to be given time to fully heal and make a complete recovery ahead of the 2025-26 season.

There hasn’t been much information regarding Lindholm’s injury, as he’s been a game-time decision for the past few games and has been participating in practice with the team. The only information surrounding the injury is it’s lower-body related.

Jonathan Aspirot, 26, was signed as a free agent this past July. He’s played five games thus far in Providence, and has posted 1-2-3 and a total of four penalty minutes. He performed well in preseason, but was ultimately beaten out of the seventh defenseman role by Jordan Harris, who is also on injured-reserve.
