The Bruins are playing the penultimate game of their road trip tonight, as they’re getting set to face off against the San Jose Sharks in San Jose, California tonight at 8pm. Ahead of the tilt, there are some important things to note.

Boston (13-9-0) comes into San Jose off an overtime victory over the Los Angeles Kings, thanks to two goals by the National Hockey League goal leading Morgan Geekie, who’s tied with only Nathan MacKinnon for first place, both with 16 goals apiece. San Jose (10-9-3) have had a much more productive start to the season than in recent years, however, they’re coming into tonight off a 3-2 loss to Ottawa.

Elias Lindholm, who’s been sidelined since October 30th, was a full participant of yesterday’s practice, and earlier today, he was activated from injured reserve. There’s hope that he could be good to go for tonight’s game, but there hasn’t been any official word. Yesterday, Sturm said, “it doesn’t mean anything yet. We’ll see, still going day by day. See how he feels today, see how he feels tomorrow, and kind of go from there.”

That wasn’t the only roster move of the day, either, as Charlie McAvoy was placed on injured reserve following a puck to the face in Montreal, which required him to have facial surgery. There’s no specification as to his injury or when he will be able to return, but the hope is that he’ll be good to go for the 2026 Winter Olympics, which take place in February.

There’s no confirmation as to who’ll get the net, but both Boston netminders have been solid for the Bruins so far. Jeremy Swayman (9-5-0), has posted a goals against average of 2.84, and a .907 save percentage. He got the start in the Bruins most recent tilt against the Kings, and he was lights out.

Joonas Korpisalo (4-5-0) doesn’t have as great of numbers, with a 3.43 goals against average and a .878 save percentage, but looking beyond the numbers, he’s come up with a number of big saves to keep Boston in competition to win games where he’s been between the pipes. Puck drop is set for 8pm EST, and can be seen on NESN and heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
