The Bruins are heading into the final game of their roadtrip tomorrow, set to face off with the Seattle Kraken before heading home to a five-game homestand. Ahead of tomorrow’s game, head coach Marco Sturm met with the media earlier today, and provided some insight to a couple of battered Bruins, as well as one player who’s been facing repeated injuries.
“I think it’s hopefully not too long, but he’s definitely going to be out for a little bit,” Sturm said of Bruins defenseman and assistant captain Hampus Lindholm. Lindholm, who’s been a major piece of the Bruins’ backend, is going to be out due to an undisclosed injury. After suffering a lower-body injury in just the second game of the season and missing ten out of the Bruins’ 15 games in the month of October.
During Lindholm’s injury stretch in October, the Bruins posted a record of 4-6-0 without the defender on the backend. Since his return from injury, he’s been averaging 22:11 night-in-night-out, has posted 3-11-14 through 32 games, and a plus/minus of -6.
Along with his own solid play, Jonathan Aspirot, who’s also recently returned from an injury, was paired with Lindholm on the second pair. The two were starting to develop some chemistry and were performing as very effective second-pairing defensemen.
Lindholm played 22:47 of the Bruins’ most recent game against Vancouver, which resulted in a 3-2 overtime victory, and saw the veteran defenseman notch a power play assist, as well as a team-leading 31 shifts. Sturm commented that it’s “not going to be a day-to-day thing.”
Additionally to the Lindholm information, Sturm mentioned that both Tanner Jeannot and Henri Jokiharju could be available tomorrow night against Seattle. Jeannot, who’s missed the last four games, has been a mainstay in the bottom-six, providing some tough and rugged play mixed with a little bit of offense.
Mainly playing alongside Fraser Minten and Mark Kastelic, the trio has been one of the most effective and consistent lines for the Bruins so far this season. His injury was undisclosed, but he hasn’t played since the Bruins faced the Montreal Canadiens on December 23rd.
Jokiharju, who’s been sidelined since November 28th, has had a rough start to the 2025-26 season. Signing a 3-year, $3 million per year extension with the Bruins this past summer, Jokiharju was expected to be a steady bottom-four defensemen, and he hasn’t really reached that mark. 0-6-6 and a plus/minus of -5 through 25 games this season, Jokiharju has been shaky. His injury was likely suffered in the Bruins’ November 28th game against the New York Rangers, as he was placed on injured-reserve the following day (11/29/25).
There hasn’t been any official notification from the Bruins related to either Jeannot or Jokiharju.
