New Boston Bruins forward Lukas Reichel is set to make his team debut tonight against the Winnipeg Jets, according to multiple reports out of the team’s pregame skate. He is set to begin the game on the third line alongside Elias Lindholm and Morgan Geekie.
Reichel, 23, was acquired by the Bruins at the NHL Trade Deadline from the Vancouver Canucks in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick. Earlier in the 2025-26 season, he was traded to the Canucks by the Chicago Blackhawks, the team that selected him 17th overall in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft. He was recalled from the Providence Bruins on an emergency basis yesterday.
In 188 career NHL games, the Nurnberg, Germany, native has 22-37-59. Last season, he set career-highs in all three counting stats, posting 8-14-22 for the Blackhawks. This year, split between five games in Chicago and 14 games in Vancouver, he has 2-3-5 in 19 total games.
Reichel has spent most of his fifth season playing in the AHL, scoring 6-7-13 in 23 games for the Abbotsford Canucks. After the deadline deal, he appeared in three games for Providence, scoring an overtime winner for his lone goal as well as collecting four assists for five total points.
The 6’0”, 170-pound forward represented his native Germany in the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics. In five games, he notched 2-1-3. His German squad went 1-2-0 in preliminary play and defeated France in the first elimination game before falling 6-2 to Slovakia in the second round.
Reichel looks to give a bump to a struggling Bruins third line as they host a Jets team four points out of the second wild card in the Western Conference tonight at 7 p.m., with coverage airing on NESN.
