About The Podcast
The Lindroth boys recently launched a brand new podcast show called “The Lindroth Hockey Podcast,” featuring co-hosts, father and son duo, Andrew and James Lindroth. This show is apart of the Black N’ Gold Podcast Network.
We decided to combine our old and new school hockey mindsets to create fascinating discussions about current National Hockey League (NHL) news, news revolving around the Boston Bruins organization, and ‘old-time’ hockey memories. We are also based in Tulsa, OK, and regularly attend the Anaheim Ducks’ (NHL) East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) minor-pro affiliate, the Tulsa Oilers, and will be discussing news related to the Tulsa organization.
The podcast show releases a new episode every week and occasionally has special guests ranging from other hockey writers, players, coaches, other additional professional hockey staff, and more!
Terry Virtue- A True Leader Off & On The Ice
This week for episode 21 we had former Boston Bruin and New York Ranger forward, Terry Virtue, join us on the podcast to discuss his phenomenal career, fighting Bob Probert, playing for the Boston Bruins, one of the most wild fan/player brawls in Hockey, and much more!
Terry began as a defenseman in the AJHL and WHL from 1988-1991. He later went undrafted and signed his first pro contract with the Roanoke Valley Rebels in the ECHL and played in the league from 1991 until 1994. He was then promoted to the AHL, and suited up for various teams from 1994 until the 1998-1999 season when he later appeared in his first handful of games with the Boston Bruins.
Later that season, he went on to help win the AHL’s Calder Cup with the Providence Bruins. After moving on from the Bruins organization, he went on to winning yet another Calder Cup championship in 2000 with the Hartford Wolfpack as well as suiting up for the New York Rangers that season. He continued to dominate as one of the top defenseman in the AHL, suiting up for Hartford and the Worchester IceCats for several years until 2004. He continued to play in the AHL until officially retiring from hockey in 2007.
Andrew- *Asking about the Providence Bruins team during the 1998-1999 season when they last won the Calder Cup championship*
Terry Virtue- “I don’t think it was one of the most special Providence teams, I think it was probably one of the best teams ever in the American Hockey League”
