It was announced earlier today that both David Backes and Patrice Bergeron will not be playing in tonight’s game against the Nashville Predators. Head Coach Bruce Cassidy confirmed this to the media after the morning skate. Both Backes and Bergeron are key parts of the Bruins forward core, and their presence will be evident in the play of the Bruins. It seems like their spots will be filled with Ryan Spooner and Frank Vatrano. The projected lines for tonight look like this…
FORWARDS
Marchand – Spooner – Bjork
DeBrusk – Krejci – Pastrnak
Beleskey – Kuraly – Vatrano
Schaller – Nash – Acciari
DEFENSE
Chara – Carlo
Miller – McAvoy
Grzelcyk – McQuaid
Also, note that Torey Krug was practicing, but in a Non-Contact jersey. I’m guessing he won’t play tonight, but it seems to be very probable that he could be back in time for the game at home against Colorado on the 9th.
