The Boston Bruins alumni have their latest opponent lined up on the docket. However, this matchup comes with a twist. The B’s legends of the past won’t be suiting up against another National Hockey League alumni squad, and they won’t be scrimmaging themselves.
While Bruins alumni gear up for the Shorsey Classic, some may check out casinos that don’t require Spelpaus registration for some off-the-ice entertainment.
The Black and Gold will take on the cast of Hulu’s hit series Shoresy in the Shoresy Fall Classic in November. The series features two games, the first against the Bruins at Boston University’s Agganis Arena on November 16, and the second a day later with the Toronto Maple Leafs alumni at the Mattamy Athletic Centre. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, June 21, featuring three VIP package tiers, including exclusive seating, a meet and greet with the cast, and more. A percentage of ticket proceeds will be donated to a local charity.
The Bulldogs roster is set to be composed of Jared Keeso (Shoresy), Terry Ryan (Hitch), Jonathan Diaby (Dolo), Andrew Antsanen (Goody), Max Bouffard (JJ Frankie JJ), Jacob Smith (Fish), Jon Mirasty (Jim #1), Brandon Nolan (Jim #2), and Jordan Nolan (Jim #3). While Boston’s 2024-25 alumni roster has yet to be announced, last season’s squad consisted of players such as Ray Bourque, Rick Middleton, Zdeno Chara, Bob Sweeney, Andy Brickley, Tuukka Rask, and Andrew Raycroft.
Premiering in 2022, Shoresy aired two seasons on HULU, with its third installment primed to release on June 19. Taking inspiration from Letterkenny, Shoresy depicts the Sudbury Bulldogs and their quest to climb out of the Northern Ontario Senior Hockey Organization (NOSHO) basement. Shore- played by Keeso- assembles a fresh roster with hopes of taking the league by storm and putting the Bulldogs back on the map.
Last season, the B’s played a 29-game schedule spanning from September to April at various arenas in the area. Whether it was at the Warrior Ice Arena in Brighton or Worcester’s DCU Center, the alumni are a great way to cheer on Bruins legends throughout the winter.
