The Bruins (14-11-0) are looking to make it back-to-back wins after their 3-1 victory over the New York Islanders this past Wednesday night, where Jeremy Swayman, with a stellar performance, stole them the game.
New York comes to TD Garden with a record of 12-11-2, coming off of a 4-2 win over the Carolina Hurricanes, and looking to make it three-straight wins. They’ve had an up-and-down start to the season, and currently sit just outside of the Eastern Conference Wild Card race, with 26 points.
There are some notable roster highlights for the Bruins today. The Bruins have just announced some roster transactions, activating forward Casey Mittelstadt, recalling forward Georgii Merkulov, placing Matej Blumel on long-term injured reserve, and assigning defenseman Michael Callahan to Providence. Sturm has confirmed that Mittlestadt, Merkulov, and Riley Tufte are in for today’s game.
David Pastrnak, Pavel Zacha, and Matej Blumel will all sit today, as Pastrnak and Zacha are day-to-day, and Blumel is long-term. Sturm also confirmed that Joonas Korpisalo will get the start. Korpisalo has been solid to start the season, despite his numbers not being stellar.
In his nine games so far this season, he’s posted a record of 4-5-0, a goals against average of 3.43, and a save percentage of .878. He’ll look to make his record an even 5-5-0 in today’s game. Today’s Thanksgiving Showdown can be found for viewing on TNT, and heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub.
