The Bruins are back in TD Garden again tonight, this time set to face off against the Ottawa Senators. Boston and Ottawa have already faced off three times this season, once in October and twice in November. Tonight is the final matchup of their season series. Boston is looking to come out of it with a 2-2 record, as they’ve dropped two of the three games so far.

The Bruins played just last night, facing off against the visiting Vancouver Canucks, with the game going into a shootout. Boston only walked away with one of the two possible points, which saw them fall to 20-15-1. Ottawa, 17-13-4, is coming off a 6-4 win against the Chicago Blackhawks. Walking away with both points tonight is crucial for both teams, as the Bruins sit in fourth place in the Atlantic Division (41 points), and the Senators are just three points behind them (38 points), in sixth place.

Lineup

The Bruins’ lineup heading into tonight’s tilt only has a couple of slight changes. Jeffrey Viel is out, Alex Steeves is in, and Joonas Korpisalo is getting the nod between the pipes.

Last night saw Morgan Geekie drop to the second-line right wing, with Marat Khusnutdinov slot into the first-line left wing. There would be some in-game shifts, which saw Casey Mittelstadt on the left wing, next to Elias Lindholm and David Pastrnak, and Khusnutdinov dropped down next to Pavel Zacha and Morgan Geekie. There was no comment from head coach Marco Sturm on what the lineup construction will look like tonight.

Highlights

Of course, Morgan Geekie is the talk of the town right now, continuing his goal-scoring tear in the National Hockey League. After his 25th goal of the season, which came last night, he became the first player to reach 50 goals in the 2025 calendar year. He also became the second fastest player, behind only David Pastrnak (27 games played, 2019-20), to reach 25 goals in a season, taking Geekie only 36 games played.

Geekie still sits in second place in the NHL in goals-scored, only behind Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon. Geekie is also the Bruins’ leading scorer in both goals and points. Elias Lindholm has had a strong start to the 2025-26 season, despite missing a handful of games due to a lower-body injury. Since missing just about a month of the season, Lindholm has 14 points in 13 games played.
