The Bruins continue to trek along on their road trip, facing off against the Calgary Flames tonight at 9 p.m. at the Scotiabank Saddledome. They’re looking to snap a five-game losing streak, preventing any more plummeting down in the Eastern Conference standings. With a record of 0-4-1 in their last five games and 4-5-1 in their last ten games, the Bruins are falling, and they’re falling fast.

Calgary, however, is looking to extend their win streak to four games, as they’ve gone 4-1-0 in their last five games and 7-3-0 in their last ten games. Both teams also sit at seventh place in their respective divisions. Despite their current plummet, the Bruins sit just one point outside of a wild card playoff spot.

Lineup

The only potential lineup change would come on the back-end, as Jonathan Aspirot is a game-time decision tonight. Aspirot, 26, has played 19 games in the 2025-26 season, and has record 1-0-1. He’s not a defenseman that’ll rack up points, but he’s strong, plays simple hockey, and knows how to move the puck. Since losing Aspirot to a upper-body injury in the Bruins’ game against the Winnipeg Jets, the Bruins have gone 1-5-1.

Jeremy Swayman will be between the pipes tonight. Through 26 games this season, Jeremy Swayman, 27, has won 14 games, posted a goals against average of 2.91 and a save percentage of .901%. The Anchorage, Alaska native has had a much better start in comparison to his 2024-25 season, and has stolen a number of games for the Bruins so far this season. Tonight, he’ll look to do it again.

Following Sunday’s 4-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, the Bruins shifted up their lines in practice. Placing Alex Steeves back on the first line with Elias Lindholm and Morgan Geekie, keeping the second line intact, and putting Marat Khusnutdinov and David Pastrnak on the third line, centered by Fraser Minten, and constructing a fourth line of Mikey Eyssimont, Sean Kuraly, and Mark Kastelic.

Highlights

Morgan Geekie remains in first place in the National Hockey League in goals for the 2025 calendar year. Just three days remaining in the year, Geekie looks to extend those numbers and conclude the year on top. Geekie scored 33 goals in 77 games in the 2024-25 season. In just 39 games this season, Geekie has 25 goals, just eight goals away from his career year last year. If he continues on his current pace, he’ll achieve that goal in effortless fashion.

David Pastrnak leads the Bruins in total points so far this season, totalling 15-26-41 though 34 games, on pace for 92 points in 77 games due to his five-game absence. He’s certainly taken a more play-making approach to his production this season, and that’s largely due to the lack of a playmaker for the Bruins last season. He’s currently on pace for 33 goals this season, that’s his lowest since the 2016-17 season.

Tonight’s game can be found on NESN, and it can be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub. Puck drop is set for 9 p.m. EST.
