The Quinnipiac Bobcats have announced the retention of a second Boston Bruins prospect in as many days. Following yesterday’s news of defenseman Elliott Groenewold returning for the 2026-27 season, Chris Pelosi has recommitted for his junior year as well.
Drafted in the third round of the 2023 NHL Draft, Pelosi is also coming off a breakout sophomore campaign, posting 18-16-34 in 35 games, including a goal in their 5-2 NCAA Tournament win over Providence. Pelosi finished third in goalscoring and fifth in points on a loaded Bobcat offense that ranked second nationally with 4.1 Goals per game, and tied for the team lead with six power play goals. He was also named to the U.S. Collegiate Selects Team at the Spengler Cup in December, finishing without a point in two appearances.
Like Groenewold, Pelosi projects to be a major piece of Quinnipiac’s lineup as an upperclassman. He was deployed on the Bobcats’ top line down the stretch, centering Andon Cerbone and Aaron Schwartz, and may very well retain that role next fall. Following the graduation of senior captain Victor Czerneckianair, Pelosi will also be relied upon more heavily for his two-way game and at the faceoff dot, should Quinnipiac look to capture their seventh consecutive Cleary Cup title and NCAA Tournament berth.
