The Boston Bruins have announced that general manager Don Sweeney has signed forward Fraser Minten to a seven-year, $50.4 million contract running through the 2033-34 season. The contract will carry a cap hit of $7.4 million annually.
Minten, acquired by Boston at the 2025 National Hockey League trade deadline, has been a mainstay on the roster after making the team out of the 2025 training camp. Through a full 82-game season, all of which he appeared in, Minten recorded 17-18-35, which were all career-highs for the 22-year-old center.
“Since joining our organization, Fraser has continued to grow and earn the accelerated trust of his teammates and coaching staff. His hockey sense, competitiveness, responsible two-way game, and offensive growth make him a valuable player for our group,” Sweeney said. He went on to add that, This is a mutual long-term commitment that reflects our confidence in Fraser and the important role he will play, as well as Fraser’s belief in our team moving forward.”
Minten picked up a couple of accolades during his first full season in the NHL – bringing home Rookie of the Month for the month of January, a month that saw him record a rookie-leading eight goals scored and tying for the lead in points with 14. At the end of the seasons, the fans voted him the winner of NESN’s 7th Player Award. He also finished 10th in Calder Trophy voting.
The Bruins have Minten locked down under his entry-level contract for one more season, and the new deal won’t kick in until July 1st of the 2027-28 season, meaning they have the young forward locked under contract for the next eight seasons.
