The Boston Bruins have announced they have placed defenseman Max Guenette on waivers for the purpose of assignment to the American Hockey League Providence Bruins.
Guenette, 25, signed a one-year, $850,000 deal with the Bruins when free agency opened back on July 1st. He’s played a total of eight games in the National Hockey League and hasn’t registered a point. He played in the Bruins’ second preseason game last night, playing alongside defenseman Frederic Brunet.
The Sainte-Foy, Quebec-native was drafted in the seventh-round, pick #187, by the Ottawa Senators in 2019, and spent most of his time in the AHL with the Belleville Senators. He played a total of 236 games with the Senators, recording 27-89-116.
During the 2025-26 season, he was traded from Ottawa to Philadelphia, where he’d spend all of his time with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. With the Phantoms, Guenette recorded 2-22-24 and a plus/minus of -6. If he clears waivers, he’ll report to the Providence Bruins training camp.
