The Professional Women’s Hockey League and their player association have agreed to several items ahead of the 2026-27 season. This includes salary and roster increases.

The joint statement from the PWHL and PWHLPA shared that each team will now have 24 players on their active roster. The reserve position will be eliminated entirely. Each team had three reserves prior to the agreement, who could sign a short contract to be activated, typically in case of injury.

One-Game Standard-Player Agreements will be allowed for “unexpected, exigent roster circumstances,” per the statement.

Additionally, the league will implement a series of salary increases. Beginning with the 2026-27 season at $42,000. It will then increase to $45,000 for 27-28, $47,500 in 28-29, $50,000 in 29-30 and $52,000 in 30-31. These increases will apply to new and existing contracts.

PWHL Training Camps will begin on November 18th. Each team will play two pre-season scrimmages before the puck officially drops on December 5th.
