There was a common theme surrounding the news on Bruce Cassidy yesterday afternoon. Anger, frustration, and a mutual feeling within the fanbase that the front office is simply using Cassidy as a scapegoat. Although I agree with most of those sentiments, we must analyze Don Sweeney and management’s reasoning. Early Tuesday morning (when most of Boston was still … Keep Reading

Wow. That was my reaction to the news that the Boston Bruins have fired head coach Bruce Cassidy. Cassidy was brought in on an interim basis following a lackluster start to the 2016-2017 season under Claude Julien and was made the official head coach of the Bruins before the end of the season. He … Keep Reading

The Bruins season came to an end after a crushing Game Seven loss to the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh a few weeks ago, but a larger problem has presented itself and swept worry around Bruins Nation: Is this it for Patrice Bergeron? The team’s captain and “face of the franchise” has completed his 18th season … Keep Reading

With a lot of speculation surrounding the future of Patrice Bergeron, I thought it might be interesting to evaluate his options from his perspective and see if that gives us any clarity as to what he might do. Now, before I really dive in, I want to address the fact that I am not Patrice Bergeron, … Keep Reading

One of the biggest questions going into the Bruins’ off-season was the contract status of General Manager Don Sweeney. With his contract expiring and the team seemingly stuck in neutral coming off a first-round playoff loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, many wondered if Sweeney would not have his contract renewed. During his end of the season … Keep Reading

After the Boston Bruins’ season came to a close following their first-round loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, the last thing on David Pastrnak’s mind was his contract.

“I actually haven’t given it a thought yet,” Pastrnak told reporters. “It’s a lot of other stuff to be worrying about the whole year. So … Keep Reading

On the surface, the 2022 Boston Bruins season looks like a disappointment. The Bruins failed to make it out of the first round in what might be the final season of Patrice Bergeron’s career. If you’re a lazy sports radio type, that’s probably what you’re saying this week. However, if you bother … Keep Reading

On Monday morning, the Boston Bruins and General Manager Don Sweeney announced that they’ve officially signed defenseman Jakub Zboril to a two-year extension following their first-round exit to the Carolina Hurricanes. Zboril’s two-year contract extension comes at a reasonable annual cap hit of $1,137,500 through the 2024 NHL season.

16-1 is a number Bruins fans have probably heard a lot. You probably know that’s the goal differential in the three games this season between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Boston Bruins. I am sick of it. It’s irrelevant.

The first game took place back in October and was just the 6th game … Keep Reading
