This isn’t the first time this week that McCarron has been involved with contact to the head as Providence forward Peter Cehlarik was the subject of a McCarron hit on Wednesday night when these two clubs faced each other for the first time this season and the first game of the current four-game road trip. RinksideRhodeIsland.com reporter Mark Divver mentioned below that the AHL Bruins team could ask the league for a review which could result in the league also looking into Wednesday nights infraction that had Cehlarik playing the rest of the game with a protective cage as seen in the image above courtesy of the Providence Bruins official website.

It was a collision with Michael McCarron nowhere near the puck that knocked out Brendan Gaunce

I’d expect Providence to ask AHL to review McCarron collision with Gaunce. Contact to head causing injury. Puck miles away

FWIW, three years ago this week McCarron lost a fight to Justin Hickman of Providence, headbutted him and was suspended for 2 games by the AHL
