Boston Bruins head coach Jim Montgomery announced Thursday morning that two forwards will miss some time due to injury. Milan Lucic and Jakub Lauko will both miss multiple games.

Lucic is expected to be out for a couple of weeks with a lower-body injury. The big forward likely suffered his injury after taking a Derek Forbort shot off the foot against the Los Angeles Kings.

He tried to give it a go the following day against Anaheim but left the pregame warmup early and wasn’t in the lineup. Lucic then tried again by taking the ice for the morning skate ahead of Tuesday’s tilt against the Chicago Blackhawks. But, again, he left early and hasn’t skated since.

Jakub Lauko is expected to miss a week after taking a skate to the face against Chicago on Tuesday. It was a scary sight at first, as the winger knew right away he had been cut open.

Luckily, he immediately got off the ice and received instant medical attention. Coach Montgomery says he has a fracture and needs to wait for the swelling to go down.
