Zellers, 19, recorded a league-high 1.37 points per game. The former Shattuck St. Mary’s forward finished third in the league in points, trailing a pair of Sioux City Musketeers by two and three points, respectively. This season, Zellers shot at a 20.6% clip on a league-high 214 shots. Along with being named USHL Forward of the Year, Zellers was selected to the All-USHL First Team on Monday. These end-of-season awards were all nominated and selected by the general managers of the USHL.
Zellers was a weapon on the Gamblers’ power play, scoring 24 points on the man advantage, which helped the unit lead the league at a 27.9% success rate. The Maple Grove, Minnesota, native helped the Gamblers get into the Clark Cup Playoffs as the sixth seed, where the Madison Capitals eliminated them in two games. In those two games, Zellers had a goal and two assists.
The 5’10” forward was originally selected 76th overall out of Shattuck St. Mary’s by Colorado in the 2024 NHL Draft after posting 57-54-111 in 54 games at the prep level in his draft year. At the NHL Trade Deadline, Zellers’ rights were dealt to Boston along with forward Casey Mittelstadt and a 2025 second-round draft pick in exchange for forward Charlie Coyle and a 2026 fifth-round selection.
