The National Hockey League has announced some of the schedule for the beginning of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs, featuring the first games of round one taking place Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Among the announcements included the first game between the Bruins and Sabres.
Taking place in the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York, the Bruins and Sabres will go head-to-head for the first time in the postseason since 2010. The game is scheduled for Sunday, April 19th, though there’s been no announcement as to a start time.
There are four time slots slated for Sunday. 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m., 7:00 p.m., and 9:30 p.m. It’s likely that the Bruins will be playing earlier in the day, as two of the matchups will be between Western Conference teams, as the Vegas Golden Knights square off with the Utah Mammoth and the Colorado Avalanche will face whoever sits in the second wild card.
The official announcement of the beginning of round one is slated to come tonight after the final day of regular season games comes to a close, so it’s something to watch for, but the Bruins officially have a start date for their first-round matchup with Buffalo.
