The Professional Women’s Hockey League has announced that Boston Fleet defenders Megan Keller and Haley Winn have been named finalists for Defender of the Year. They are alongside Sophie Jaques of the Vancouver Goldeneyes.
The PWHL Awards Ceremony is being held on June 16th in Detroit, MI.
Keller led all defenders in regular-season points with 22. It was a career high for her as well, beating her previous by seven. Of her seven goals, three were game-winning which was the lead amongst defenders.
This is Keller’s second time being a finalist for Defender of the Year. Montréal’s Erin Ambrose beat her and Ella Shelton in 2024.
Winn led all skaters in both total and average time on ice this season. Her impact was immediate for the Fleet. She was taken third overall in the 2025 PWHL Entry Draft.
Amongst defenders this season, her 19 points are ranked third in scoring. She’s also a favorite for the Rookie of the Year Award, where she was second in scoring.
