The Boston Bruins drafted Russian goaltender Yuri Ivanov in the second round and Swedish forward Nils Bartholdsson in the third round of the 2026 National Hockey League Draft. Heading into the fourth round, the Bruins held three picks. The first was selecting Russian forward Matvei Kotkov with the 104th overall pick, but the Bruins traded the 111th overall pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins, leaving them with one fewer pick in the fourth round.
With the 122nd overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft, the Bruins selected Swedish forward Oscar Olsson. The Tampa Bay Lightning originally owned the 122nd pick, but the Bruins acquired it in a trade at the draft last year. Through four rounds, general manager Don Sweeney drafted two Swedish forwards.
In the 2025-26 season, Olsson played 4 combined games for the U18 Region and Nationell teams at Orebo HK in Sweden. However, for the Orebo HK’s U20 team, Olssson was solid. In 32 games, Olsson recorded 30 points and also scored five goals in 12 games during the 2026 playoffs. Olsson also played on Team Sweden’s U16 and U18 Junior International teams. At 18 years old, Olsson has a great size of 6’4″, 187 lbs. Olsson can play offense and make a tall presence on the ice with physicality and play defense.
