The Boston Bruins have released their four-game preseason schedule for the 2026 season. This slate, which features two home contests and two away contests, opens on Sunday, September 20th and concludes on September 25th. With only four games, the Bruins will play both their opponents at home and on the road that week.
Similar to previous seasons, the Bruins open preseason play at home against the Washington Capitals at 5 p.m. on the 20th at TD Garden. Two nights later, they host the Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m. on the 22nd to close out their home preseason contests.
On the 24th, the Bruins travel to Philadelphia for a 7 p.m. game against the Flyers at Xfinity Mobile Arena. The next night, the Bruins conclude preseason play with a visit to the nation’s capital to take on the Capitals at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena.
The schedule was reduced to four games under the new collective bargaining agreement (CBA), which increased regular-season play from 82 to 84 games and reduced the preseason slate from 6 to 4. The 84-game schedule will likely include two additional divisional games for the Bruins; in an 82-game season, they would play two Atlantic Division foes three times each, compared to playing the rest of the division four times each.
According to the Bruins’ press release, the preseason broadcast schedule, as well as the full 2026-27 NHL regular season schedule, will be released at a later date, which typically occurs in mid-July.
