Despite having the American Hockey League’s best record in 2026, the Providence Bruins have lost significant depth up front this offseason. Forwards Patrick Brown, Riley Tufte, and Georgii Merkulov have all departed this offseason, and now another forward has just departed.
Today, forward John Farinacci signed a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Admirals. Farinacci, the former 76th overall pick in the 2019 National Hockey League Draft by the Arizona Coyotes, joined the Boston Bruins organization when he signed a contract in August 2023. Farinacci scored in the only NHL game he played for Boston in April 2025.
Farinacci, 25, finishes his Providence tenure recording 95 points in 197 games. Farinacci began his Providence tenure strong, recording a 38-point season in his first two seasons with the team. In the 2025-26 AHL season, Farinacci struggled, recording 19 points in 68 games. Farinacci’s nine goals, ten assists, and -5 rating were all career lows for a single season. Farinacci also added just one assist in four games for Providence during the 2026 Calder Cup Playoffs.
Farinacci has a chance to return to Providence when the Admirals play the Bruins at Amica Mutual Pavilion on Nov. 22 for a 3:05 p.m. ET puck drop. The Admirals also host the Bruins this season on March 26 at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena for an 8 p.m. ET puck drop, so Farinacci has two games against his former team at the moment.
