The Boston Bruins’ 2026 training camp is underway, and they’re set to play their first of four preseason games tonight at 5 p.m. at TD Garden. Ahead of puck drop, National Hockey League insider Elliotte Friedman announced that the Bruins have placed forward Navrin Mutter on waivers.
Mutter, 25, was acquired by the Bruins from the Nashville Predators at the 2026 NHL trade deadline. He would go on the play 12 games for the American Hockey League Providence Bruins, totalling 1-0-1 through those games, and a plus/minus of -2. Looking at his career as a whole, he’s played 161 career games, totalling 5-16-21 and a plus/minus of -30, with 322 penalty minutes.
After being acquired by the Predators, the Bruins would go on to extend Mutter, signing him to a one-year, two-way deal with an average annual value of $850,000 back in June.
Mutter began this week with the Boston Bruins’ training camp, practicing with Group A, which included names like David Pastrnak, Morgan Geekie, Elias Lindholm, Charlie McAvoy, Nikita Zadorov, and more. Mutter was one of the extra forwards, along with Ivan Ivan. He has yet to make his NHL debut.
