The Professional Women’s Hockey League announced that it will hold its first-ever All-Star Game during the 2026-27 season. The game will take place at Scotiabank Arena on March 7, 2027.
The event will feature four teams: PWHL Canada, PWHL USA, PWHL International, and PWHL Rookies. The teams will compete in a three-on-three round-robin format.
The four teams will be constructed based on fan, player and media voting. Each roster will be composed of six forwards, three defenders, and one goaltender
The news was shared today live from the Hockey Hall of Fame in downtown Toronto. Laura Stacey, President of the PWHLPA, was joined by league EVPs of Hockey and Business Operations, Jayna Hefford and Amy Scheer for the announcement.
“The PWHL was built to feature the best players in the world, and now fans will see the highest level of skill in women’s hockey showcased in a new and unique way,” Hefford said via press release. “The 3-on-3 format creates an intense, fast-paced style of play, while the mix of teams will produce intriguing matchups and give both established stars and emerging talent the opportunity to shine. It’s only fitting that we return to Toronto — where the PWHL first dropped the puck — to bring the best of the best together for an unforgettable day for our fans and our league.”
The day will mark a historic first in the PWHL. Members of the league joined the National Hockey League in 2024 for their All-Star Weekend, coincidentally also held in Toronto. But these festivities will belong solely to the PWHL players and their teams.
