The Boston Bruins are back on home ice tonight, as they’re set to host the Ottawa Senators in their fourth game of the 2026-27 season, and their second home game of the season, and they’re set to do so with some lineup changes.

Both Matt Poitras and Frederic Brunet will make their season debuts tonight, as forward Sean Kuraly and defenseman Jonathan Aspirot will slot out. Poitras is going to slot in on the fourth line, between Mark Kastelic and Tanner Jeannot. Brunet will be skating on a pair with Mason Lohrei. Bruins’ head coach Marco Sturm confirmed that Poitras won’t be on the penalty kill.

The Bruins are coming into tonight’s game off a 4-1 loss to the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. It was the second game of a back-to-back, in which they beat the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night by a score of 4-3 in overtime, thanks to new-Bruin JJ Peterka. Tonight’s game is the first of a three-game homestand.

Ottawa comes into tonight’s game looking to build on their 1-0-0 record, after they beat the Toronto Maple Leafs on Friday night by a score of 3-2. Tonight’s tilt is the first of four regular-season matchups between the two clubs. The Bruins will play Ottawa on the road twice this season, and they’ll host them one more time on March 25th. Last season, the Bruins were victorious in just one of their four regular-season matchups against Ottawa — which came on November 6th, 2025, and was a 3-2 overtime victory.

Besides the two debuts we’ll see tonight, Boston’s roster is much unchanged. The top-three lines will be what we’ve seen through three games this season, and the top-two defense pairs will remain unchanged. Marco Sturm also confirmed that Jeremy Swayman will get the start between the pipes.

Tonight’s game is going to be found on NESN, and it can be heard on 98.5 The Sports Hub. Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m.
