Boston Bruins forward JJ Peterka reached a significant career milestone this afternoon, recording his 200th National Hockey League point in the Bruins’ convincing 5-1 victory over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers at TD Garden. With the victory this afternoon, the Bruins improved to 4-2-0 on the season and currently lead the Atlantic Division with eight points, two ahead of the Ottawa Senators, who have a 3-1-0 record.
Peterka, a 24-year-old native of Munich, Germany, reached the milestone in the second period when he assisted on defenseman Mason Lohrei’s second goal of the season, the Bruins’ second tally of the game. The assist helped the Bruins build momentum in a dominant performance and secured Peterka’s place among the elite German-born players in NHL history. With the 200th point, Peterka now ranks eighth all-time among German-born NHLers and joins a list that includes Leon Draisaitl, Marco Sturm, Jochen Hecht, Tim Stutzle, and Christian Ehrhoff.
Originally a second-round pick (34th overall) of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft, Peterka has steadily developed into a reliable offensive contributor. In 326 career NHL games, he has tallied 94 goals and 107 assists, solidifying his reputation as a consistent, versatile forward.
Today’s contest was Peterka’s first multi-point game since joining the Bruins and ended a three-game pointless streak, signaling a timely return to form. His performance was instrumental in the Bruins’ strong offensive showing and was met with an enthusiastic response from the rabid TD Garden crowd. After six games this season, Peterka sits tied for third on the Bruins in goals (2) and stands alone in third place on the team in overall points (4), underlining his growing importance to Boston’s offensive attack.
