The Boston Bruins’ college hockey prospects turned in their most prolific scoring weekend of the season, with ten players racking up a combined 15 points. Four different skaters put together multipoint weekends, with four others finding the back of the net. Even the lone goaltender of the bunch got involved during a big win. With so much scoring across the board, which Bruins prospects stood out the most?

James Hagens (C/LW) – Boston College – A position shift from Center to the wing didn’t bother Hagens, as he continued his point-per-game scoring pace by recording assists in both games of the Eagles’ weekend road sweep of Vermont. His first assist set up the game-winning goal on Friday night, springing Landan Resendes free on a breakaway to put BC ahead with just under 90 seconds left in regulation and snap a three-game losing streak.

The latter assist flashed Hagens’ patience, vision, and puck handling to set up Lukas Gustafsson as part of a 5-0 blowout win on Saturday. Hagens continues to lead the Eagles in scoring with 3-6-9 in nine games.

Philip Svedeback (G) – Providence – Svedeback backstopped Providence to a weekend series win over UConn, stopping 65/68 shots over a four-point weekend for the Friars. He earned the road win on Friday with 37 saves and chipped in on offense with an assist in the 4-1 victory. Svedeback later stopped 28 of 30 shots through overtime on Saturday, but surrendered the only shootout goal as the Huskies claimed the extra point. The senior netminder is sporting a 3-2-2 record with a .912 Sv% and a 2.55 Goals Against Average through eight starts.

Will Zellers (RW) – North Dakota – Zellers hit the scoresheet in both games for the second consecutive weekend, scoring two goals and adding an assist over North Dakota’s blowout sweep of Omaha. Zellers cashed in on the power play twice on Friday night and assisted on the empty net clincher as the Fighting Hawks won 7-2 and 4-1. He’s up to 5-4-9 in 10 games in Grand Forks, and leads the team with four power play goals.

Chris Pelosi (C) – Quinnipiac – Pelosi recorded his first multipoint game of the season on Saturday, scoring a goal and setting up another in the Bobcats’ 4-3 overtime win over Brown. The goal was his fourth in five games, finding himself in a perfect position at the side of the crease to tap home a rebound chance off a point shot from Aaron Schwartz. He later earned his assist by winning a board battle to get the puck to Jeremy Wilmer, who sprung Mason Marcellus on a breakaway. Pelosi is now up to 6-3-9 in 10 games for Quinnipiac, and is tied for the team lead in scoring.

Mason Langenbrunner (D) – Harvard – Langenbrunner notched his first two points of the season in short order, being credited with a pair of assists in the first period of the Crimson’s 6-5 win over Colgate on Saturday. It was the second multi-point game of Langenbrunner’s career, the first coming against Northeastern in the Beanpot last season, when he also recorded both points in the same period. Langenbrunner was initially credited with the first goal of the game, but the puck was later ruled to have been deflected by teammate Salvatore Guzzo, giving him the assist.

Looking Ahead: Langenbrunner will hit the road for a weekend in the Adirondacks, as Harvard will take on Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Ryan Walsh will play host to Brown and Yale. Pelosi and Elliott Groenewold take on Jonathan Morello and the visiting Boston University Terriers on Saturday night.

Hagens, Dean Letourneau, Will Moore, and Kristian Kostadinski have a home-and-home with UMass, starting in Chestnut Hill on Friday night. Svedeback and the Friars have a home-and-home with Merrimack, hosting the opener in Providence.

Casper Nassen and Miami return after an off-week and head to Kalamazoo to face Western Michigan. Zellers plays host as Arizona State makes the journey up to Grand Forks for the weekend. Beckett Hendrickson and the Minnesota Golden Gophers will host Long Island for a non-conference series in Minneapolis.
