Providence Bruins forward and Boston Bruins prospect Fabian Lysell is set to make his return to the American Hockey League lineup tonight at the Amica Mutual Pavilion as the top minor-pro affiliate of the Boston Bruins faces the visiting Rochester Americans. Lysell, a 2021 first-round NHL Draft selection, has been sidelined with concussion symptoms since March 14th after a harrowing incident during a 7-0 shutout victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in downtown Providence, Rhode Island.

During that game, Lysell was knocked out of action following a fight in which he was severely outmatched, taking multiple blows to the head as he fell to the ice. The incident forced him out of the lineup, and he has been recovering ever since.

Now cleared to return, Lysell rejoins the Providence Bruins for his last season under his entry-level contract. In 53 games played this year, Lysell has contributed 15 goals and 25 assists for a total of 40 points. His return is expected to provide a significant boost to the lineup as Providence pushes toward the postseason.

Providence has four games remaining in this 2025-26 regular season before the team gets a first-round bye in the upcoming Calder Cup Playoffs for winning the Atlantic Division. Lysell, if 100% healthy, could help this Providence team offensively make a serious push for the franchise’s second league championship. Although Lysell’s offensive production has been streaky this season, he’s sure to add value to the line of himself, Matt Poitras, and Georgii Merkulov in tonight’s game at home.
