The Boston Fleet announced that Haley Winn has been extended through the 2028-29 season. The announcement came on her 23rd birthday.
Winn had previously been on a three-year Standard Player Agreement. The reigning Rookie of the Year had one of the most impressive breakout seasons. In addition to winning Rookie of the Year, she was also a finalist for Defender of the Year, which ended up going to her Fleet teammate Megan Keller.
This season, Winn led all skaters in time on ice, anchoring herself as one of the most important parts of the Boston roster. In her 30 games she recorded 5-14-19, making her tied for first amongst rookie scoring and third amongst all defenders. Winn also represented Team USA at the Milano Cortina Olympics, recording four points in seven games.
