The Boston Bruins have announced that they’ve assigned goaltender Simon Zajicek to Providence. The assignment is the only move to come out of the day as the Bruins prepare for their third preseason game tonight against the Philadelphia Flyers.
The 25-year-old netminder played in his first season in the American Hockey League with the Bruins’ affiliate, the Providence Bruins, this past season. Zajicek started 21 games this season, and recorded a goals against average of 2.44 and a save percentage of .915%. Through those 21 games, he allowed 49 goals and made 529 saves.
Before coming to North America, Zajicek played the majority of his career in Czechia. The Boston Bruins signed him to a one-year deal in the summer of 2025, before resigning him to another one year deal for the 2026-27 season. Zajicek doesn’t require waivers, so he’ll report directly to the Providence Bruins’ training camp.
