We’re almost one month away from the start of the 2026-27 Professional Women’s Hockey League Season. With each team playing only 30 regular-season games, every game matters for standings, especially with only 18 conference games. But for the Boston Fleet, there’s a few that really stand out in the season ahead.

Dec. 9 versus the Ottawa Charge

The Fleet had their historic season cut short by the Ottawa Charge in the first round of playoffs last year. They just couldn’t find ways to capitalize with the season on the line. The two teams will look different come opening night, with both losing talent across the league.

The game will be Boston’s home opener and first at their new home, Agganis Arena. The game is already sold out per the team. The Fleet will try to right their playoff wrongs by finding the back of the net. It might be too early in the season to expect strong power-play results but generating shots will be important for it’s progression over the season.

Holiday West Coast Road Trip

The Fleet will spend their Christmas on the West Coast, visiting four teams in eight days. These games will not be easy with each of the teams equipped with young talent from the 2026 PWHL Entry Draft.

They’ll open the trip in Vancouver playing the Goldeneyes on December 22nd. This will be the first time they play 2026 first-overall pick Caroline Harvey. They’ll have a rare back-to-back and head to Seattle the following day to face the Torrent. Their trip will resume on December 26th against PWHL Las Vegas, before concluding on December 30th in San Jose.

Defense and goaltending will need to shine on this road trip. Expect these games to be low-scoring.

Jan. 29 at the Minnesota Frost

This game marks the halfway point of the season: Game 15. The Fleet and Frost have always had some hard-fought battles, going all the way back to the inaugural Walter Cup Championship series. This year it’s a little different, with the Frost officially a member of the Western Conference.

The Frost have always been one of the most offensively dangerous teams in the PWHL, and that hasn’t changed much headed into the new season. It will be another huge defensive test for Boston.

Hamilton Matchups

On paper, PWHL Hamilton looks pretty dangerous. And for the Fleet, they know how well they’ll be coached with Kris Sparre at the helm. It makes each of the three Hamilton matchups this season big ones to circle. They’ll play at TD Coliseum twice, on January 26th and February 10th. The highly anticipated homecoming of Alina Müller will happen at Agganis Arena on April 10th.

The Fleet have a lot to prove this season after they exceeded expectations last year. Much of that could be credited to their Head Coach. The three games against Hamilton will be huge in proving that they can still reach that same spot and this time hopefully make it even further.
