After seven games into the 2026-27 American Hockey League season, the Providence Bruins sit at 2-5 and in last place in the Atlantic Division. Last weekend, the Bruins played their first road games of the season in back-to-back matchups against the Hershey Bears. Now, before the Bruins return home tomorrow night to host the Utica Comets, the Hartford Wolf Pack stand in the way in another back-to-back, and it’s the team’s third consecutive road game.

The Bruins travel to PeoplesBank Arena to play the Wolf Pack in Hartford, Connecticut. Tonight marks the second meeting of the season between the Bruins and the Wolf Pack in just two weeks, and the first in Hartford.

This past weekend, the Bruins played their first road games in a back-to-back at Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Bruins fell 5-3 in a tough defeat Saturday. The Bruins trailed 2-0, then scored two goals in 17 seconds to tie, but the Bears quickly regained the momentum. However, the Bruins rebounded with a 6-1 win the next day to split the back-to-back. The win over the Bears gave the Bruins confidence after a two-game losing streak in which the team allowed 11 goals combined.

Forward Mikey Eyssimont led the win over the Bears, recording the first hat trick by a Providence Bruins player in Hershey since Sergei Zholtok in December 1994. After his second hat trick this season, Eyssimont leads the Bruins with seven goals and eight points. Eyssimont scored for the Bruins in Saturday’s game, and he also scored the team’s first goal in both games. Forward Brian Halonen recorded three points and scored his first goal as a Bruin. Goaltender Jiri Patera made 27 saves to earn his first win as a Bruin.

A Look at the Opponent

The Wolf Pack enter tonight’s game with a 3-5 record and are fifth in the Atlantic Division. After defeating the Bruins in the first meeting, the Wolf Pack have lost their last five games. During the five-game losing streak, the Wolf Pack have been outscored 22-7. The Wolf Pack’s two most recent losses came this past weekend, with back-to-back road defeats to the Charlotte Checkers at Bojangles Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Forward Cole Beaudoin leads the Wolf Pack with six points and also leads the team with five assists. Forwards Taylor Raddysh and Liam Greentree are tied for the most goals on the roster, with three each. Goaltender Callum Tung has been solid, posting a 2.23 GAA and a .933 save percentage.

Looking to Erase the First Meeting

In the first meeting between the two teams on Oct. 9 at Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island, the Wolf Pack blanked the Bruins 2-0. Forwards Glenn Gawdin and Justin Dowling scored for the Wolf Pack, and Tung was excellent, posting a 28-save shutout. Patera stopped 23 of 24 shots. The Bruins struggled on the power play, going 0-for-7, including a failed four-minute power play in the first period.
