Today, the National Hockey League announced the three stars for the month of March and once again, a Boston Bruins player is on the select list.

Edmonton Oilers forward Connor McDavid earned the first star, Bruins forward Brad Marchand earned the second star and Anaheim Ducks forward John Gibson was named the third star of the month.

Brad Marchand continued his outstanding season with a great month of March. In the 15 games that the month had, Marchand scored ten goals, assisted on sixteen other goals, for an overall total of 26 points, adding to his season tally of 84 points.

Brad Marchand’s excellent play helped bring the injured roster to an 11-2-3 record, eventually leading to the team clinching first place in the Atlantic division and the Eastern Conference on March 29th.

In the 15 games that Marchand skated in, he scored at least one point in twelve of them, including a five-point outing against the Detroit Red Wings back on the sixth of March. Marchand tied the league-record for most overtime-winning goals in a single season, with five this past month, scoring two of them in March alone. He also currently leads the league for highest points-per-game average, with a 1.33, tied with fellow Nova Scotia-native, Nathan MacKinnon.

The Bruins head into the final week and a half of the 2017-2018 regular season, then prepare for the upcoming playoff run.
