The most recent reports confirm that Boston Bruins have not stopped adding to their roster before next season. The DailyFaceoff’s Anthony DiMarco and Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported that the Bruins signed forwards Michael Eyssimont, Sean Kuraly, and Alex Steeves. The Bruins are moving along in their offseason, and after these contracts, according to PuckPedia, they will have $1,218,333 of salary cap space remaining.

Sean Kuraly, the former Bruin, will be coming back to Boston. DiMarco and Friedman reported that the contract will be two years with a cap hit of $1,850,000. The 32-year-old centerman played in 270 regular-season games for the Bruins and another 57 in the playoffs during his five seasons, spanning from 2016 to 2021. Kuraly tallied 33 goals and 54 assists while here, before signing a four-year deal with his hometown Columbus Blue Jackets. Kuraly scored 40 times in 292 games with the Blue Jackets and added 45 assists, but finished at a -35.

Michael Eyssimont is a 6’0”, 191lb left-handed center, and he is 28 years old. According to Anthony DiMarco, Eyssimont’s contract will be two years with an AAV of $1,450,000. Hailing from Littleton, CO, Eyssimont has played 213 NHL games, most notably with Tampa Bay, but also had stops in Winnipeg, Seattle, and San Jose. He has 25 goals and 56 points throughout his career, and his plus/minus rating comes in at a +11. This past season, he scored five goals and five assists for Tampa Bay before getting dealt to the Kraken in the trade that sent Yanni Gourde and Oliver Bjorkstrand to the Lightning.

Alex Steeves is a 25-year-old left winger tearing up the AHL. According to Anthony DiMarco, Steeves will be here on a one-year deal worth $850,000. The Bedford, NH native picked up 36 goals and 62 points this season for the Toronto Marlies. His play has improved every year. In his first season in the AHL, he totaled 46 points, and that number has increased yearly. He played in seven games in the NHL with the Maple Leafs this season and notched a goal and an assist. Steeves is the Toronto Marlies’ all-time leader in goals and total points.

Sean Kuraly played a role in Boston during his first time here, filling in the fourth line and bringing grit and skill to the line. Bruins fans might remember when he jumped over the bench to aid former captain Zdeno Chara. Eyssimont has been a pest throughout his time in the league, and he brings even more physicality to the Bruins’ lineup, something the team seems to be prioritizing this summer. Alex Steeves has been seeking an opportunity in the NHL, something more than the 14 games Toronto gave him in his four years, and moving closer to home could be the opportunity Steeves needed to crack an NHL lineup.
