When many think of the B’s prospects currently playing College Hockey, many think of the ones playing at Boston College, or Will Zellers at North Dakota. While they have had spectacular seasons, they’re not the only ones playing well in the NCAA this year.

Ryan Walsh leads Cornell in scoring, with 6-12-18 in 15 games. The Rochester, New York, native just returned to the lineup after representing College Hockey at the Spengler Cup. Meanwhile, Elliott Groenewold leads Quinnipiac in Plus/Minus at an absurd +23. While it’s certainly a flawed stat, he comfortably leads the Bobcats in that category. How did they, and the rest of the Bruins’ Prospect Pool do this week?

Europe

Kirill Yemelyanov this week for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (MHL): Two games played, two assists, five penalty minutes, +4 rating.

Yemelyanov had two assists in a 6-1 win over Kapitan Stupino on Friday. He also received a five-minute major penalty for Boarding.

Juniors

Cole Chandler this week for the Shawinigan Cataractes (QMJHL): Three games played, one goal, three assists, two penalty minutes, +2 rating.

Chandler had a three-point night against Cape Breton on Thursday, including the goal above.

Cooper Simpson this week for the Youngstown Phantoms (USHL): Two games played, two goals, one assist, no penalties, +3 rating.

NCAA

Jonathan Morello this week for Boston University (Hockey East): Two games played, no points, two penalty minutes, Even Plus/Minus.

Casper Nassen this week for Miami (OH) University (NCHC): Two games played, one goal, no penalties, +1 rating.

Nassen buried his fifth goal of the season on Friday against Arizona State, in a 2-1 overtime win over the Sun Devils. He’s up to 5-9-14 in 22 games.

Chris Pelosi this week for Quinnipiac University (ECAC): Two games played, one goal, one assist, no penalties, +3 rating.

Pelosi continues to impress in his Sophomore season with the Bobcats, with 12 goals on the year. He’s a legit candidate to turn pro at season’s end.

Ryan Walsh this week for Cornell University (ECAC): Two games played, three goals, one assist, two penalty minutes, +1 rating.

Will Zellers this week for the University of North Dakota (NCHC): Two games played, one assist, no penalties, -1 rating.

Providence and Maine

The Providence Bruins went 2-1-0 this week, defeating the Bridgeport Islanders and Lehigh Valley Phantoms, while losing to the Hartford Wolf Pack. Frederic Brunet had the game-winning goal on Sunday for the P-Bruins, his sixth goal of the season. Fabian Lysell had three assists this week, bringing him up to 11-18-29 in as many games.

Meanwhile, the Maine Mariners went 2-0-1 this week against the Reading Royals. Max Wanner had a goal on Sunday, as well as four shots on goal. Luke Cavallin went 1-0-1 in his two starts this week, stopping 61 of the 68 shots he faced over the two contests.
