Boston Bruins forward Viktor Arvidsson did not travel to Buffalo for game five of the 2026 Stanley Cup Playoffs and will be out, according to Head Coach Marco Sturm. In addition, defenseman Henri Jokiharju will be in for defenseman Jordan Harris. No decision on Arvidsson’s replacement has been made.

Arvidsson left game four after the first period due to an upper-body injury and only recorded 3:13 time on ice. Arvidsson missed practice yesterday due to what Sturm called “a maintenance day.” While no announcement was made on when the injury occurred, or the status of Arvidsson other than he did not travel, the suspected play was a hit in the first period from Sabres’ defenseman Mattias Samuelsson.

Jokiharju will draw into the lineup for his first career playoff game against his former team. In the regular season, Jokiharju appeared in 41 games, scoring 2-13-15 while being the team’s seventh defenseman. If he were to replace Harris’ spot in the lineup, he would be paired alongside Hampus Lindholm. With Harris being replaced, it looks like Mason Lohrei will be out of the lineup for the second consecutive game. Nikita Zadorov was also absent from practice yesterday due to maintenance, but he made the trip to Buffalo.

As for who slots in for Arvidsson, the Bruins have a few options. In his pre-game press conference, Sturm said it is a “possibility” that Michael Eyssimont or Alex Steeves would be in the lineup, but that decision would come after warm-ups. The Bruins also have rookie James Hagens as an option, but he was scratched in game four in favor of Lukas Reichel.
